      Kevin Kelly

Kevin Kelly hails from Ballinascreen in County Derry, a place where mist curls over the hills and music seems to rise naturally from the earth. A musician, producer, and writer, Kevin has been part of the Irish music world since the mid-nineties, following a path guided as much by instinct as ambition.
He has formed many Irish bands over the years, writing and recording ten albums that trace the twists and turns of his creative journey. Each one carries echoes of tradition, adventure, and the quiet magic that comes from playing with others who share the same heartbeat for music.
Kevin’s travels have taken him far from home, yet always connected to it—performing at festivals from Glastonbury to Woodford, where the crowds, campfires, and night air seemed to hum along. His performances are less about spectacle and more about atmosphere, story, and the sense of belonging that Irish music brings.
Though he plays several instruments, it is the bodhrán that calls to him most—the pulse, the earthiness, the ancient rhythm beneath it all. Founding BodhranWorld.com allowed Kevin to share that fascination, offering a welcoming place for learners and players to explore the tradition. Over time, his guidance has earned him a quiet respect among bodhrán enthusiasts around the world.
Kevin is also the author of Diary of a Galway Girl, an Irish romance that blends music, place, and the soulful pull of the west coast—where love and longing often feel like part of the weather. His writing carries the same qualities as his music: warmth, storytelling, and a touch of enchantment.
Rooted in heritage yet always exploring, Kevin Kelly continues to create, teach, perform, and write—inviting others into the world that has shaped him. His work is less about acclaim and more about connection, memory, and the timeless Irish spark that refuses to fade.
